There are so many things we don’t know about oils, vitamins, minerals, and many other related health products available out there. What they are, why we need them, where they came from. Wanting to find out more about these substances can be pretty difficult. Most of the write-ups that tell us about them can be boring. Most of the time, you end up having to scroll your way through paragraph after paragraph just to find something interesting.

1. Lavender oil is an essential oil. Before applying it to the skin, a few drops of lavender oil must be added to a carrier oil, such as coconut oil, to dilute it and prevent irritation.

2. Lavender oil can be ingested, applied to the skin, or breathed in during aromatherapy.

3. It’s a multipurpose oil with antifungal, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antidepressant properties.

4. It can also help reduce acne by killing bacteria. Add a few drops of lavender oil to a carrier oil, such as olive oil, and then apply it to the skin.

5. Lavender oil unclogs pores.

6. Lavender oil reduces inflammation of the skin. A great recipe for this is adding 3 drops of lavender oil to 1 tablespoon of coconut oil.

7. Lavender oil can be used as a facial toner. For this, add 1-2 drops of lavender oil to a teaspoon of witch hazel. 

8. Lavender oil is healing for spots. Mix equal amounts of argan oil and lavender oil and apply it to the spot twice a day.

9. The antifungal properties of lavender oil make it helpful against eczema and psoriasis. A great recipe for this is 2 drops of lavender oil, 2 drops of tea tree oil mixed with 2 tablespoons of coconut oil.

10. Lavender oil can help with reducing discolouration, blotchiness, and redness of the skin.

11. Lavender oil can help heal sunburn. Mix 10 drops of lavender oil, 10 drops of jojoba oil, 2 tablespoons of water and half a cup of aloe vera juice. Fill the mixture into a spray bottle and spray over the sunburnt area.

12. Lavender oil promotes the healing of the skin, especially wounds. Mix 3 drops of lavender oil with a teaspoon of coconut oil and apply the mixture to your skin.

13. Lavender oil can help reduce scars. Mix 5 drops of lavender oil mixed with a tablespoon of coconut oil and apply the mixture to the affected area.

14. Lavender oil is an excellent insect repellent. A great spray recipe is 10 drops of lavender oil added to a cup of water.

15. Lavender oil can help reduce the itchiness after an insect bite. Mix 2 drops of lavender oil with a tablespoon of coconut oil.

Bonus fact for insect bites – A drop of peppermint oil will reduce any stinging.

16. Lavender oil can help treat poison ivy.

17. Lavender oil helps reduce wrinkles and fine lines. Mix 2-3 drops of lavender oil with a tablespoon of coconut oil and apply the mixture to the skin.

18. The oil is effective at keeping the surface of the skin clean.

19. Breathing in lavender scent is excellent for reducing anxiety and depression and lifting your general mood. 

20. Lavender oil is known as a natural sleeping aid, helping you get a better night’s sleep and combating insomnia.
