The provision of education is a requirement for all children aged 16 years and younger in the UK whether the child is from a stable family background, a broken family background, is a looked after child, is a child with medical issues or is a child with special education needs and disabilities. 

This Help Guide specifically focuses on children with special educational needs and disabilities and children with medical needs. We will go over the rights of these children, what facilities should be made available by law, how they are protected by law, SEND department in schools, SEN support plans, EHC plans and much more. 

In box 3 below we will also go over 26 of the most common disorders and conditions that any child suffering from these is regarded as one with special educational needs.
